What to Expect

Your comfort and providing the highest quality of care are our top priorities at Physical Therapy Group. At our facilities in Michigan, our friendly staff and experienced therapist makes every effort to provide the best treatment experience possible.

When you arrive, you will find that we value your time as well, and you will typically be seen in less than 10 minutes. Here is what you can expect when you come to our clinic:

Patient Forms

Once you have made your initial appointment, you may pre-register by downloading, printing, and completing the forms below. Please be sure to bring them with you to your first visit. Completing the forms prior to your visit will help speed up the new patient registration process.

Downloadable Forms

  • Consent Form
  • Registration Form
  • Medical History

Please note: It may take a few minutes to load the forms if you are using a slow internet connection. If you are unable to view the forms, you may need to download Adobe Acrobat for free by clicking on the icon below.

Treatment

In addition to state-of-the-art machines to aid in your treatment, your therapist will use hands-on care to directly target the source of your pain or stiffness. Manual therapy is especially effective for soft tissue and joint injuries. We may also use heat and cold therapy, ultrasound, electrical stimulation (also known as e-stim or TENS), and progressive strengthening exercises as well as cold laser therapy to help you recover.

For patients with Parkinson’s disease, your therapist may use a technique called LSVT BIG® to address the unique movement impairments that affect those with the disease.

Cool Down

Each session usually ends with icing or therapeutic massage as part of the cool down process, and electro-stimulus may be applied to help your muscles recover and minimize any discomfort from therapy.

Closing

Your therapist will ask for your input in recording the day’s progress in our electronic files and discuss your goals for the following sessions. This is the time to ask questions about your condition or treatment. You will receive post-therapy guidelines for instructions at home, including any exercises.

Follow-up Appointment

Our staff will schedule your next appointment at a time that is convenient for you.

Web PT

You can register to receive home exercises and reminders electronically, so you will always be in touch with us and well prepared for the best possible treatment outcome. Your participation is key!
